You will need:
-
Hot glue gun with glue sticks
-
Canvas (mine are 22x28)
-
Large Cardboard letters (Joanns has the large ones)
-
Fabric (get a yard of each just to be safe)
-
Paint
-
I used acrylic paint for the base coat and then used gloss spray paint for the top coat.
-
I used 2 cans of spray paint for 4 letters
-
-
Lay out your letters in a well ventilated area and start painting your first coat. While the letters are drying you can start working on your Canvas. Take a break in-between each canvas to add as many coats as you see necessary.
-
Lay your fabric out face down and place your canvas on top of the fabric, also face down. Make sure your canvas is parallel to the grain of the fabric. If your fabric is not strait some patterns will look “wonky” once you glue it on.
-
Choose one side to start with. Fold the material onto the back of the canvas and hot glue the material onto the wood frame. MAKE SURE TO keep the material strait.
-
Repeat step 2 on the side parallel to the side you just finished. However, this time pull the material tight and stretch over the frame. ONCE AGAIN, keep the material strait; don’t stretch one corner tighter than another.
-
Repeat step 3 on the remaining 2 sides.
-
Repeat steps 1-4 on the remaining canvases!
-
Use a ruler to measure the middle of the fabric canvas and use your hot glue gun to glue down your letters!
-
Voila… you are done!
